thank you so much, James! I'm glad you think so! I often second guess myself as I only know what works for me--but we're all having this human experience, so what works for one likely works for others.

I hope and wish all is going well with you and your family.
A meditative nearing and application is essential to the ones trying to learn from your essay.
It takes to abandon all the outside energies and find rest and quiet within.
As you metaphorically create and reiterate, negative memories sit and dwell within. Outside world is fully ignorant about (vide story about your old girlfriend...) these FEELINGS. Closing a pact of peace and frienship with old traumata is the first step for release of negative energy.
This however, will require quiet, peace and harmony within yourself. A smile rushing over your face, a deep breathing out and relax... Over is over...
Life is all about our goodselves and we create the world around us. Creative energy is resting in all of mankind. The only way to trigger is a positive mind-set without fail. As one takes responsibilty for her/his life we take charge and NOT CONTROL.
Control of Life is impossible. The world is daily change and human beings are full of fault and fail. Notwithstanding this, AND ACCEPTING THESE TERMS, you may change a lot in tiny steps and patience. Knowing the way you intend to go and YOUR OBJECTIVE, which don't reveal yet.
The mysterious part of your direction is causing interest "without"....
This is energy returning and supporting you in your progress without asking for it (Taoist Teaching).
Once your individual jig-saw puzzle is beyond a picture in your mind and reaching reality, open up. The energy having piled up outside will reside and interest of "without" will be a good support for your progress.
At the same time remember, "without" is ignorant about you. So it is your energy and power that needs to be channelled in the precise, focused direction of your project - OBJECTIVE.
Beyond this try to "NOT VALUE". There will be envy, mistrust, spite...
Of course, your closest friend may be good support on your way. But always be on alert,...weakness is a human trait.
I sit in my new home, Conti Restaurant, Gjakova (Kosovo), and write, enjoy the sun and the many things shaping to a construct in my mind. Une dua Kosova...
You make a great point and one that I forgot to cover in this article--finding peace and clearing out stored energies is not an intellectual endeavor. Its one that requires a serious shift in attitude and emotional maturity. And this comes with patience.
This made me smile--thank you:

and thank you for your boundless wisdom. I think about you often and am immensely grateful that our paths have crossed.
The divine light in me sees and honors the divine light in you (namaste).
I love everything you write but this one was particularly poignant. I am sober and thsi article very closely mirrors the process of my recovery. Thank you for being you.
Kimberly, first and foremost, I am so proud of you and your sobriety. That is huge—congratulations! I also plan to write on AA (ie., addicts anonymous) because most of our inner issues comes down to addiction—be it alcohol or something else. We’re all addicts of one thing or another, but the crutch differs.
Thanks so much for you feedback—I truly appreciate it :)
thank you thank you thank you!!!! Its been a long hard road since my childhood, theres a lot of stuck emotions deep within, & this post has helped me think about how to heal it all......Ive tried forgiveness many times, its difficult, but I caught a glimpse of how it could work for me, I just have to keep saying to myself, I forgive you & I forgive 'them' for all the hurt cruelty abandonment, abuse, Ive witnessed by 'them' & myself & to truly dig deep & forgive. I suffer with CPS, FM & many others health & mental health issues because of the pain of it all over the past 5 decades, Im a testimony how if you dont let go & forgive it can consume you & every cell in your body & brain & you will be sick. I have a lot to forgive, its hard with injustices going on in the world (gaza, the congo, sudan, ukraine etc) & back home in my own family with many secrets untold, abuse ignored & the past buried deep within that has left me ill as I try to come to terms with how can people be so cruel, ignorant, racist, judgemental, homophobic, islamaphobic, abusive, & why I was/ am reeling from their choices of such atrocities leaves me in a deep despair I try to overcome but with great difficulty. Does forgiving take away the pain? In some circumstances yes but I friggin detest injustice & my heart races with anxiety & sadness everyday, hence why I cannot heal until justice prevails, so in the meantime Ill try hard to truly forgive & forgive myself, but its no meant feat. Im a work in progress with a broken heart & ill health & if forgiveness is the way out then Ill keep doing my best to forgive myself & others who have hurt me to the core. I weep. C xx
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with so much heart and soul. It reminds me that we are all a “work in progress with a broken heart”—especially those causing the injustices. They hurt so many, but I believe they’re hurting themselves most of all. It’s against their nature and spirit to be so cruel & they are fighting themselves from the inside out (and harming many others in the process).
I’m so grateful my writing spoke to you and that you were able to share a bit about what it brought up for you. Thinking of you and rooting for you.
I love the word samskaras and its definition. The image that comes to mind is trapped energy circling around and around, as if stuck in an internal cul-de-sac without an exit. It's exactly how rumination, shame, and fear can consume us in darkness. I think, too, that sometimes in life the best choice is to remove ourselves from environments, and in some cases, people, where we are constantly brought back to our "cul-de-sacs" due to being bombarded with reminders, gossip, and insecurities based on not wanting to move forward in life. In those situations, finding the space and distance for forgiveness to work its magic is imperative.
Forgiveness is writing off anything we consider unpaid debts to us. Why carry old debts on our soul’s accounts receivable ledger? Write them off and be free.
I'm currently reading The Coddling of the American Mind, and the authors make the same points you are laying out here. We have much more control over our lives than we let on. It begins with reframing situations, which moves us out of a state of victimhood and into a sense of agency. Thanks for sharing!
Nice work. Great job. Everyone should read this, and understand it.
Thanks.
thank you, Neo!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this!!!
Every bit of it!
Yes! Set yourself free.
Forgive.

Exquisite post Jen. So much essentialness in here, that when embraced, will allow us to live our best lives and become our best selves.

I firmly believe most of our addictions are our attempts to self medicate our inner issues.
This is a wonderful piece Jen. I always love a reminder.
Thank you Lucas!

Beautiful. How clearly you articulate what so many of us feel and don’t quite understand. Thank you .
